Horse gram is good for reducing weight it generates heat so don't over do it.

INGREDIENTS:

  1. Horse gram - 1 cup
  2. Finely chopped onion - 1
  3. Crushed garlic - 2 cloves
  4. Dry chili - 1
  5. Curry leaf - 3 count
  6. Mustard seed - 1/4 teaspoon (tsp.)
  7. Oil - 1 teaspoon (tsp.)
  8. Salt - as needed

PREPARATION:

  1. Soak horse gram in water for 4 to 5 hours.
  2. In a pan heat oil add mustard seeds once they stop splattering add dry chili, crushed garlic and sauté.
  3. Now add onion and curry leaf and sauté until the onion turns translucent.
  4. Now add the soaked horse gram, salt (after filtering water). Simmer and cook for 10 - 15 minutes. Note: sprinkle water if needed so horse gram does not get burnt

NOTES:

  1. if needed you can sprinkle shredded coconut.
  2. If you like you can add 1 teaspoon (tsp.) of lemon juice and mix well before you serve.
  3. When you cook the horse gram you don't need to add water just make sure you cook in low simmering heat.
