INGREDIENTS:

  1. Sliced Red Onion (Indian onion size) - 4 
  2. Gram flour - 1 cup
  3. Rice flour - 1/4 cup
  4. Fennel seed - 1/2 tablespoon (tbsp.)
  5. Chopped garlic - 7
  6. Turmeric powder - 1/2 teaspoon (tsp.)
  7. Curry leaf - 2 sprig
  8. Chili powder - 3/4 tablespoon (tbsp.)
  9. Garam masala powder - 1 teaspoon (tsp.)
  10. Salt - 1 teaspoon (tsp.)
  11. Oil - to deep fry.

PREPARATION:

  1. In a bowl add gram flour, rice flour, chili powder, turmeric powder, salt, garlic, fennel seeds, garam masala powder and mix well.
  2. Now add sliced onion, curry leaves. Now sprinkle water and mix all together mix well till it gets into a kind of thick crumbly dough (wet loose mixture).
  3. Cut onions, green chili, garlic into very fine pieces.
  4. Heat the oil in a heavy pan to 350 degree Fahrenheit.
  5. Now drop the pakoda mixture drop them breaking them into small pieces.  Fry until golden brown, stirring in between. Remove it from the oil and drain excess oil  paper towel and serve.

NOTES:

  1. Cook in batches so the oil does not cool down fast to less than 350 degree Fahrenheit for good result.
  2. Do not make balls or shape it, this pakoda should be shapeless.
  3. Goes will tea or coffee.
