INGREDIENTS:

  1. Ginger - 25 grams (skinned and cleaned)
  2. Tamarind - gooseberry (nellikai) size
  3. Hot green chili - 6
  4. Shredded coconut - 1/4 cup
  5. Curry leaves (optional) - 5
  6. Garlic - 20 cloves
  7. Uluttam paruppu (Urad dal) - 1 table spoon
  8. Mustard seeds - 1/4 table spoon.
  9. Oil - 4 table spoon
  10. Salt - to taste

PREPARATION:

  1. In a pan heat 2 table spoon of oil add U?uttam paruppu (Urad dal) cook for 2-3 min, add coconut, ginger, garlic, curry leaves, tamarind, green chili and cook for 3-5 min.
  2. Now grind the cooked ingredients by adding little water as possible to a fine thick paste.
  3. Heat rest of oil in a pan add mustard seeds, when it stop to splatter add the grind paste, mix and cook for 2-4 min.
