INGREDIENTS:
- Mung beans (pasi paruppu) - 100 grams
- Rice - 400 grams
- Milk - 250 Millie liter
- Shredded coconut - 1 cup
- Jaggery - 1 kilo gram
- Cashews - 10
- Raisins - 10
- Ghee - 200 grams
- Cardamom powder - 1/4 tablespoon (tbsp)
PREPARATION:
- Add 1/4 cup of water and cardamom powder to jaggery.
- Heat and melt the jaggery until it becomes a thick syrup and keep it aside.
- In a pan fry the mung beans ( pasi paruppu) for 4-5 min ( note don't burn it)
- Cook the rice to paste by adding mung beans (pasi paruppu), milk and salt. (milk + water should be 8 cups)
- In a pan melt ghee cashews, raisins and shredded coconut until coconut turns golden brown.
- Now add melted jaggery, fry items in ghee (step5) and the cooked rice mix well and serve.
