INGREDIENTS:

  1. Raw rice - 1 cup
  2. Kalkandu (Rock candy crystal) - 1 cup
  3. Ghee - 4 teaspoon (tsp.)
  4. Milk - 3 cup
  5. Cashew nut - 10 count
  6. Raisin - 10 count

PREPARATION:

  1. Powder the Kalkandu in blender or mixer.
  2. In a pressure cooker add milk, 1 tumbler of water and bring to boil. Now add rice, pinch of salt and pressure cook this for 3 whistle.
  3. Once the pressure is released add the Kalkandu powder and cook in simmer by stirring until the Kalkandu is fully dissolved.
  4. In a pan melt ghee and roast the cashew, raisins to golden brown and add to the Kalkandu pongal. Mix well and serve.

NOTES:

  1. Preparation time: 5 minutes, Cooking Time: 20 Minutes, Total time: 25 minutes
