INGREDIENTS:

  1. Foxtail millet (thinai) - 1 cup
  2. Moong dal - 1/4 cup
  3. Jaggery - 1 cup or as needed (depending on you sweet taste)
  4. Camphor (pachai karpooram)  - less than a black pepper corn
  5. Cardamom powder - 1/4 tablespoon (tbsp.)
  6. Cashew nut (roasted in ghee) - 6
  7. Ghee - 3 tablespoon (tbsp.)
  8. Water - 2 cup
  9. Salt - a pinch

PREPARATION:

  1. Clean and wash oxtail millet (thinai), moon dal.
  2. Pressure cook for 4 whistle oxtail millet (thinai), moon dal, water, 1 tablespoon (tsp.) ghee and salt.
  3. Melt jaggery and add this to the cooked millet along with cardamom powder, ghee, camphor and mix well.
  4. Garnish with cashew nut and server hot.
