INGREDIENTS:

  1. Mutton pieces - 350 gram
  2. Chopped onion - 2
  3. Ginger garlic paste - 1 teaspoon (tsp.)
  4. Chili powder - 1 1/2 teaspoon (tsp.)
  5. Turmeric powder - 1/4 teaspoon (tsp.)
  6. Yogurt or curd - 100 milliliter
  7. Cumin seed - 1 teaspoon (tsp.)
  8. Fennel seed - 1 teaspoon (tsp.)
  9. Cinnamon stick - 2 pieces
  10. Clove - 2 count
  11. Cardamom - 2 count
  12. Oil - as needed
  13. Salt - to taste

PREPARATION:

  1. In a pressure cooker heat oil, Add fennel seeds and fry it.
  2. Now add onion and sauté until it becomes translucent (golden brown).
  3. Now add ginger garlic paste and sauté until the raw smell is gone.
  4. Now add chili powder, turmeric powder and sauté
  5. Now add the mutton pieces, salt and sauté. Once mutton is sautéed (i.e. sweated) add yogurt or curd, cumin seeds and mix well.
  6. Pressure cook the mutton until its cooked. NOTE: no need to add water as mutton has water. if you need water add 1/2 tumbler of water or as needed so mutton don't get burnt.
  7. Once mutton is Cooked and pressure is released if the mutton is dry serve. or cook it until oil start to separate and serve.

NOTES:

  1. Goes well with dosai, white rice with rasam
