INGREDIENTS:
- Nethili karuvadu (dry anchovy) - 1 cup
- Thinly sliced onion (or) Thinly shallot (sambar onion) - 1 1/2 cup
- Slit green chili - 10
- Turmeric powder - 1/2 teaspoon (tsp.)
- -- For Tempering --
- Mustard seed - as needed
- Curry leaf - a handful
- Oil - as needed
- Salt - as needed
PREPARATION:
- Soak nethili karuvadu (dry anchovy ) in water for 1/2 hour and clean them well.
- In a pan heat oil, add mustard seed, curry leaf once the mustard seeds stop splattering add onion and sauté it until they become translucent (golden brown).
- Now add green chili, nethili karuvadu (dry anchovy), turmeric powder, salt and sauté until they come together (cooked well and oil seperates) and serve.
NOTES:
- nethili karuvadu (dry anchovy ) have salt already keep this mind when you add more salt.
