INGREDIENTS:

  1. Dry fish - 100 grams
  2. Hot dry chili - 30 grams
  3. Coriander seed - 30 grams
  4. Black pepper - 5 grams
  5. Turmeric Powder - 1 teaspoon (tsp)
  6. Tamarind - 35 grams
  7. Fenugreek seed - 1/2 teaspoon (tsp)
  8. Onion - 1
  9. Curry leaves (optional) - 5 leaves
  10. Salt - to taste

PREPARATION:

  1. Clean and wash the dry fish.
  2. Soak tamarind in a cup of water for 10 minutes and make a thick juice. (squeeze and remove the fibers)
  3. Cut onions into to small pieces.
  4. Grind dry chili, black pepper, coriander seed.
  5. Now in a bowl mix the grounded  (Grind dry chili, black pepper, coriander seed. ) and tamarind water. Add turmeric powder, salt as well.
  6. Heat oil in a pan, add fenugreek seed fry for minute, then add curry leaves and fry for a minute.
  7. Then add the tamarind juice mixture and when it reach boiling stage add the washed dry fish and cook for 20-30 min until the required consistency is reached.

NOTES:

  1. Instead of raw tamarind, 2 table spoon of paste can be used with cup of water
  2. You can also add vegetables like eggplant , drumstick, plantain and potatoes. Add them when the mixture boiling stage
