  1. Idli batter or Dosai batter - 2 cup
  2. Maida flour - 1 cup
  3. Finely chopped onion - 2
  4. Finely chopped green chili - 4
  5. Cooking soda - 2 pinch
  6. Salt - as needed
  7. Oil - for deep fry


  1. Mix idli or dosai batter, maida flour, chopped onion, chopped green chili, cooking soda, salt as needed and make bonda batter by adding water if needed.
  2. Heat oil in a deep pan. Make small balls out of the batter and deep fry them to golden brown and serve. NOTE: make sure the batter has less water other wise it will observe lot of oil.
  3. Now serve the bonda.
