INGREDIENTS:

  1. Fiber removed and cubed vazhaithandu (banana stem) - 1 cup
  2. Turmeric powder - a pinch
  3. Cumin powder - 1/4 teaspoon (tsp.)
  4. Black pepper powder - as needed
  5. Lemon juice - as needed
  6. Butter milk (watered) - as needed
  7. Coriander leaf - little
  8. Salt - as needed
  9. ----------------------------------
  10. -- For Tempering --
  11. -----------------------------------
  12. Mustard seed - 1/2 teaspoon (tsp.)
  13. Curry leaf - little
  14. Oil - 1 teaspoon (tsp.)

PREPARATION:

  1. Soak the vazhaithandu (banana stem) in butter milk for 5 to 10 minutes. Drain the butter milk and keep it aside
  2. In a pressure cooker add the vazhaithandu (banana stem), turmeric powder, salt, 2 cups of water and cook for 3 whistle. Once pressure is released filter the water from vazhaithandu (banana stem). In a blender grind the vazhaithandu (banana stem) by adding the cooked water to a paste. Add this paste to the filtered soup.
  3. Heat the soup and bring to boil.
  4. In the mean time heat oil in a pan. add mustard seed, curry leaves. Once they stop splattering now add this to boing soup.
  5. Now add cumin powder, salt, black pepper powder, lemon juice to soup and mix well. Before removing from heat garnish with coriander leaves and serve.

NOTES:

  1. Healthy soup with fiber.
  2. Soup also cool your body.
