INGREDIENTS:

  1. Soybean sprout - 1 cup
  2. Finely chopped garlic - 2 cloves
  3. Finely chopped spring onion - 1/2
  4. Water - 2 1/2 cup
  5. Salt - as needed

PREPARATION:

  1. Add all the ingredients into a pan. Simmer and bring to boil. Boil until the sprouts, garlic, spring onion are cooked well and reduce the liquid to say about 1 1/2 cup.
  2. Remove from heat (stove).
  3. Put the soup in a bowl and serve NOTE: sprinkle some sesame oil,  roasted sesame seed powder on top, just before serving if you like

NOTES:

  1. You can add finely chopped 1/2 onion, 1/4 cup of kelp (sea weed),  hot pepper flakes if you like.
  2. This soup is called Kongnamulguk (콩나물국): sprout soup in Korean. You can search the web for more varieties.
  3. Serves 2 people
