INGREDIENTS:

  1. Kidney bean - 1/2 cup
  2. Chick pea - 1/4 cup
  3. Black bean - 1/4 cup
  4. Chopped Onion - 1
  5. Chopped Garlic - 2 cloves
  6. Chopped Capsicum - 1
  7. Chopped Jalapeño pepper - 1
  8. Brown sugar - 1 teaspoon (tsp.)
  9. Balsamic vinegar - 1 tablespoon (tbsp.)
  10. Chili powder - 1 teaspoon (tsp.)
  11. Tomato puree - 1 cup
  12. Olive oil - 2 teaspoon (tsp.)
  13. Bay leaf - 1
  14. Salt - to taste.

PREPARATION:

  1. Soak kidney bean, chick pea, black bean, black bean for 8 hours in water.
  2. In a pressure cooker add fresh water if needed, bay leaf and pressure cook beans until they are cooked well. Drain the water and keep them aside.
  3. In a pan heat oil; now add garlic, onion, Jalapeño pepper, capsicum and cook until the onion turn golden brown or the raw smell is gone.
  4. Now add chili powder and sauté for 2 minutes.
  5. Now add the cooked beans, tomato puree, 3 cup of water, balsamic vinegar, Salt to taste. Simmer and cook the chili for 45 minutes stirring time to time and adding water if needed.
  6. Once the chili is cooked to right consistency add the brown sugar mix well and serve.

NOTES:

  1. Good to have these in cold weather.
