INGREDIENTS:
- Tamarind - 1 small lemon size
- Cumin - 1 teaspoon (tsp.)
- Tomatoes - 2
- black pepper - 1 teaspoon (tsp.)
- Split black gram - 1 teaspoon (tsp.)
- Garlic - 4 cloves
- Mustard seeds - 1/4 teaspoon (tsp.)
- Dry chili - 4
- Asafoetida - a pinch
- Curry leaves (optional) - 5
- Coriander leaves (optional) - 5
- Salt - to taste
- Oil - 4 table spoon
PREPARATION:
- Soak tamarind in 1 cup of water and get the juice. Cut tomatoes into fine pieces and add to the tamarind juice.
- Crush the garlic with pestle and add to the tamarind juice.
- Crush the split black gram, black pepper, cumin with pestle into a powder and keep it aside.
- Heat oil in pan, add mustard seed, asafoetida, curry leaves, dry chili and cook until mustard start to splatter.
- Now add the tamarind juice, powdered ingredients, salt to taste and bring to boil.
- After boiling for few minutes add the coriander leaves remove and serve.
