INGREDIENTS:

  1. Taro root (seppankilangu) - ½ kilogram
  2. Chili powder - ½ tablespoon (tbsp.)
  3. Tamarind - big gooseberry size
  4. Salt - 1 teaspoon (tsp.)
  5. Oil - ¼ cup
  6. Mustard seed - ¼ teaspoon (tsp.)

PREPARATION:

  1. Soak tamarind in ¼ of a cup for 20 minutes and make a thick juice.
  2. Cook the taro root by submerge in water and cook fro 20 minutes or until its cooked.
  3. De-skin the taro root and cut into 2 pieces.
  4. In a pan heat oil, add mustard seed once the mustard seed stop splattering add the taro and sauté for 3 minutes
  5. Now add the tamarind juice, salt, chili powder.  Sauté until the oil is separated and the taro is roasted well.
  6. Remove from stove or heat and serve.

NOTES:

  1. Goes well with rice.
