INGREDIENTS:

  1. Plantain - 3
  2. Fresh shredded coconut - 1/2 cup
  3. Slit Green chili - 2
  4. Chopped onion - 1
  5. Crushed garlic - 3 clove
  6. -- For Tempering --
    1. Mustard seed - 1/2 teaspoon (tsp.)
    2. Split black gram - 1/2 teaspoon (tsp.)
    3. Dry chili - 2
    4. Curry leaf - 1 sprig
    5. Oil - as needed
  7. Salt - as needed

PREPARATION:

  1. Steam the plantain and shredded them.
  2. Grind coconut, green chili into fine paste by adding little water as possible.
  3. In a pan heat oil; add mustard seeds, curry leaves, black gram, dry chili. Once the mustard stop splattering add the onion, garlic and sauté until onion become translucent (golden brown).
  4. Now add the shredded plantain, ground coconut, salt and mix well. Cook this until raw smell is gone and little longer (say 3 to 5 minutes) then serve.
