INGREDIENTS:

  1. Roasted rice flour - 1 1/2 cup
  2. Roasted wheat flour - 1 1/2 cup
  3. Shredded coconut - 1 cup
  4. Carrot - 1 (big)
  5. Potato - 1 (big)
  6. Green beans - 1
  7. Egg - 1
  8. Chopped Onion - 2
  9. Chopped Tomato - 2
  10. Slit Green chili - 3
  11. Curry leaf - little
  12. Unsalted butter - 1 tablespoon (tbsp.)
  13. Chili powder - 1 1/2 teaspoon (tsp.)
  14. Garam masala powder - 1/2 teaspoon (tsp.)
  15. Mustard seed - 1/2 teaspoon (tsp.)
  16. Oil - 1 tablespoon (tbsp.)
  17. Salt - as needed.

PREPARATION:

  1. Mix rice flour, wheat flour, shredded coconut. Sprinkle warm water and make a wet flour. With the help of puttu make steam 2-3 minutes the raw puttu flour. NOTE: Make sure you don't add lot of water (when you steam the water will pass through the dough and some will be observed) and the flour is wet enough. The flour will be like the shredded coconut consistency
  2. Shred the cooked puttu.
  3. Chop carrot, green beans, potato into small pieces. Steam the vegetables and cook them.
  4. In a pan heat oil. Add mustard seeds, once the mustard seeds stop splattering add onion, slit green chili, curry leaves and sauté until the onion turns are translucent.
  5. Now add chopped tomato and sauté until they become mushy.
  6. Now add the chili powder, garam masala powder, salt and sauté until the raw smell is gone.
  7. Now add the egg and cook until its half cooked.
  8. Now add the steamed vegetables, butter and cook until they are come together.
  9. Now add the cooked puttu. Mix well until the puttu is well coated with the masala and serve.
