INGREDIENTS:

  1. Flattened rice - 1 cup
  2. Sugar - 1 cup
  3. Cardamom - 2
  4. Shredded coconut - 1 cup
  5. Ghee - 2 teaspoon (tsp.)
  6. Milk - as needed
  7. Salt - as needed

PREPARATION:

  1. Roast in ghee flattened rice and keep it aside.
  2. Grind the roasted flattened rice in a mixer to rava consistency.
  3. In a bowl add flattened rice , add salt. Sprinkle milk little by little and mix the rava until it reaches shredded coconut consistency. NOTE: don't add too much milk.when you steam it water will pass through the dough.
  4. Layer shredded coconut then dough i.e. layer by layer in puttu cylinder until its full. Now steam the puttu in puttu maker for 2 to 3 minutes or until its cooked.
  5. Break the puttu into small pieces, add ghee (as needed), sugar (as needed)  then serve.
