INGREDIENTS:

  1. Varagu (Kodo Millet) - 100 grams
  2. Black gram with skin on - 25 grams
  3. Fenugreek seed - 1/4 teaspoon (tsp.)
  4. Cumin seed - 1/4 teaspoon (tsp.)
  5. Garlic - 2 whole
  6. Fresh shredded coconut - 1/2 cup
  7. Salt - as needed.

PREPARATION:

  1. Boil water and add the whole black gram. Once its half cooked now add the Varagu (Kodo Millet), garlic cloves from 2 whole garlic, cumin seeds, fenugreek seeds, shredded coconut.
  2. Once the black gram, Varagu (Kodo Millet is cooked, add salt as needed mix well and serve.

NOTES:

  1. Congee goes well with sesame Thuvaiyal. If cooked like rice goes well with fish curry.
