INGREDIENTS:

  1. Thinai rice (Foxtail Millet) - 50 grams
  2. thattai payaru (cow pea) - 25 grams
  3. Palm Jaggery - as needed.
  4. Cashew nut, raisins - as needed.
  5. Ghee, dry ginger powder, shredded coconut - little

PREPARATION:

  1. Soak thattai payaru (cow pea) in water. boil and cook them. Strain water and keep it aside.s
  2. Soak Thinai rice (Foxtail Millet) in water and grind to thick fine batter.
  3. Boil 2 cup of water and dissolve the palm jaggery. once dissolved filter the impurities by filtering with a strainer. Now heat the filtered jaggery water.
  4. Now add the Thinai rice (Foxtail Millet) batter. Mix and cook. NOTE: make sure no lump are formed
  5. Now add the cooked thattai payaru (cow pea).
  6. Once the porridge is cooked.
  7. In a separate pan heat ghee. add cashew nuts, raisins and roast them.
  8. Now add roasted cashew + raisins, dry ginger, shredded coconut, Mix well and serve.

NOTES:

  1. Instead of thattai payaru (cow pea) you can use green gram
