INGREDIENTS:

  1. Potato (kilangu) - 1/4 kilo gram
  2. Onion - 1/4 kilo gram
  3. Coconut milk  - 1/4 cup
  4. Tomato - 2
  5. Green chili - 6
  6. Roasted gram (porikadalai)  powder - 2 teaspoon (tsp)
  7. Turmeric powder - 1/2 teaspoon (tsp)
  8. Mustard seed (kadugu) - 1/2 teaspoon (tsp)
  9. Broken black gram (ulutham paruppu) - 1/2 teaspoon (tsp)
  10. Oil - 3 tablespoon (tbsp).
  11. Salt - to taste.

PREPARATION:

  1. Boil the potatoes and cut them into small pieces.
  2. Cut onion, tomatoes, green chili into fine pieces.
  3. Heat oil in a pan. Add the mustard seed, broken black gram cook until mustard stop splattering.
  4. Now add the onion and cook until it turns golden brown.
  5. Now add green chili for 2 - 3 min. Now add the tomatoes and cook until oil separates.
  6. Now add the turmeric, salt, coconut milk and bring to boil. Now add the potatoes mix well and cook for 3 - 5 min.
  7. Before you remove from heat add the roasted gram powder mix well and serve.

NOTES:

  1. Cook longer or shorter based on your masala thickness consistency. Serve with puri.
