INGREDIENTS:

  1. Split moong dal (green gram) - 100 grams
  2. Chopped Tomato - 1 small
  3. Chopped Onion - 2 medium size
  4. Ginger, garlic paste - 1 teaspoon (tsp.)
  5. Green chili - 1
  6. Chili powder - 1/4 tablespoon (tbsp.)
  7. Turmeric powder - 1/4 tablespoon (tbsp.)
  8. Cumin seed powder - 1/4 tablespoon (tbsp.)
  9. Chopped Coriander leaf - few
  10. Egg - 2
  11. Black pepper powder - 1/4 tablespoon (tbsp.)
  12. Mustard seed - 1/4 teaspoon (tsp.)
  13. Dry chili - 2
  14. Oil - 2 teaspoon (tsp.)
  15. Ghee - as needed
  16. Curry leaf - 1 sprig
  17. Salt - as needed

PREPARATION:

  1. Slightly roast the moong dal in fire. Do not over roast them i.e. until they change golden brown.
  2. Beat one egg and keep it aside. Beat the other egg. Add little chopped onion, black pepper powder, salt, little chopped coriander leaf. Beat well and make an omelet by heating ghee in a skillet. Now cut the omelet into to pieces.
  3. In a pressure cooker add roasted moong dal, water as needed, turmeric powder, cumin seed powder, chili powder, ginger garlic paste, chopped tomato, half of the chopped onion, green chili, ghee. Cook this to 2 whistle. once the pressure is gone. Add tumbler of hot water, salt.
  4. In a pan heat oil. add mustard seeds, dry chili, curry leaf. Once the mustard seeds stop splattering add this to cooked dal.
  5. Now add the omelet pieces.
  6. Now add the beaten egg as a drizzle.
  7. Reheat the dal. Simmer and cook for 5 minutes and then serve.
