INGREDIENTS:

  1. Black gram - 3 tablespoon (Tbsp.)
  2. Fresh Graded coconut - 3 tablespoon (Tbsp.)
  3. Cardamom powder - 1/2 teaspoon (tsp.)
  4. Sugar or Jaggery - 4 tablespoon (Tbsp.)
  5. Water - as needed
  6. Salt - a pinch

PREPARATION:

  1. Coarsely grind black gram.
  2. Bring water to boil. Now add the black gram and mix well
  3. Now add ground coconut, sugar, pinch of salt.
  4. Stir and cook the kanji until the raw smell is gone. NOTE: add hot water if the mixture becomes think. don't burn it. You might have to adjust the heat.
  5. Add cardamom powder mix well and serve.

NOTES:

  1. You can use black gram powder as well.
