INGREDIENTS:

  1. Potato - 1 cup
  2. Mustard seed - 1 teaspoon (tsp.)
  3. Cumin seed - 1 teaspoon (tsp.)
  4. Asafoetida powder - 1/4 teaspoon (tsp.)
  5. Turmeric powder - 1 teaspoon (tsp.)
  6. Red chili powder - 1 teaspoon (tsp.)
  7. Oil - as needed
  8. Salt - as needed

PREPARATION:

  1. Wash and peel the potato and cut them into small roughly equal size dices.
  2. Heat oil in the pan. add the cumin seeds, mustard seeds and let them crackle.
  3. Now add Asafoetida powder, diced potato and sauté until the potato is well soaked with oil.
  4. Now add the turmeric powder, red chili powder and salt to taste and sauté well.
  5. Cook for 2 - 3 minutes or until potatoes are cooked and then serve.
