Ellu satham podi recipe

Keeping ellu satham podi (sesame rice powder) prepared in advance will help us to use with cooked rice. Just add to rice mix well and serve.

INGREDIENTS:

  1. Sesame seed (ellu) - 200 grams
  2. Black gram - 1 teaspoon (tsp.)
  3. Bengal gram - 1 teaspoon (tsp.)
  4. Coriander seed - 1/2 tablespoon (tbsp.)
  5. Tamarind - goose berry size
  6. Jaggery - goose berry size
  7. Dry chili - 12
  8. Roasted pea nut - 1 tablespoon (tbsp.)
  9. Salt - as needed

PREPARATION:

  1. Dry roast all the ingredients in a pan except salt and cool this down to room temperature and grind to coarse powder.

NOTES:

  1. To serve add this podi as needed to cooked rice along sesame oil, roasted ground nut, salt. Mix well and serve.
