INGREDIENTS:

  1. Ripped mango - 1
  2. Tamarind - 1 small lemon size
  3. Chopped Shallot (sambar vengayam) - 1/2 cup
  4. Chili powder - 3 teaspoon (tsp.)
  5. Finely chopped tomato - 4
  6. Turmeric powder - 1/2 teaspoon (tsp.)
  7. Curry leaf - 5
  8. -- Fry and grind to paste --
    1. Fenugreek seed - 1/2 tablespoon (tsp.)
    2. Cumin seed - 1/2 teaspoon (tsp.)
    3. Rice - 1 teaspoon (tsp.)
    4. Split bengal gram - 1 teaspoon (tsp.)
  9. -- For tempering --
    1. Mustard seed - 1/2 teaspoon (tsp.)
    2. Fenugreek seed - 1/2 teaspoon (tsp.)
    3. Curry leaf - 7
  10. Salt - to taste

PREPARATION:

  1. Cut mango into big pieces.
  2. Soak tamarind in 2 cup water, dissolve and get the juice. Add salt for taste, tomato, turmeric powder to tamarind juice.
  3. Dry fry 1/2 teaspoon (tsp.) fenugreek seeds, cumin seeds, rice, split bengal gram and grind them in to fine powder.
  4. In a pan heat oil, add mustard seeds, fenugreek seeds, curry leaves and cook until the mustard seeds stop to splatter.
  5. Now add tamarind juice and mangoes and bring to boil and cook until right thickness is reached.
  6. Now add the ground powder cook for 5 minutes and serve.
