INGREDIENTS:

  1. Thinai (Foxtail millet) Flour - 1 cup
  2. Jaggery - 100 grams
  3. Fresh shredded coconut - 1/2 cup
  4. Crushed cardamom - 2 count
  5. Sesame seed - 2 teaspoon (tsp.)
  6. Water - 1/4 tumbler.
  7. Salt - to taste.

PREPARATION:

  1. Sift the thinai flour, salt. Now sprinkle water as needed and mix so it forms small lump.
  2. Steam and cook this in idli cooker or in stove top with cloth covered pan. Once cooked add shredded Jaggery, coconut, crushed cardamom, sesame seeds mix well and serve.

NOTES:

  1. Kodo millet (varagu), Samai can be cooked this way.
