INGREDIENTS:

  1. Bengal gram - 1 cup
  2. Pigeon pea - 1 cup
  3. Chopped Sirukeerait - 1 cup
  4. Chopped onion - 1
  5. Dry chili - 4
  6. Fennel seed - 1 teaspoon (tsp.)
  7. Curry leaf - little
  8. Chopped Coriander leaf - little
  9. Oil - as needed
  10. Salt - as needed

PREPARATION:

  1. Soak bengal gram, pigeon pea, fennel seed, dry chili submerged in water for minimum 2 hours. Drain water and grind to masala vadai batter consistency..
  2. Heat oil in a pan and sauté the sirukeerai. Add this to batter along with onion, curry leaves, coriander leaves, salt and mix well.
  3. Heat oil for deep frying. Now drop small chunks of the batter and fry to golden brown and serve.

NOTES:

  1. You can also cook this like masala vadai.
