INGREDIENTS:

  1. Boiled egg (slit ) - 4
  2. Thinly sliced Onion - 2
  3. Oil - 2 tablespoon (tbsp.)
  4. Mustard seed - 1/2 teaspoon (tsp.)
  5. -- For Masala --
    1. Chili powder - 3/4 teaspoon (tsp.)
    2. Black pepper powder - 1/2 teaspoon (tsp.)
    3. Garam masala powder - 1/2 teaspoon (tsp.)
    4. Turmeric powder - 1/4 teaspoon (tsp.)
    5. Lemon juice - 1 teaspoon (tsp.)
    6. Oil - 1 teaspoon (tsp.)
    7. Salt - as needed

PREPARATION:

  1. Make a slit on boiled eggs just half way with a knife.
  2. Mix the ingredients under the section "-- For Masala --" into a thick paste by adding water as needed.
  3. In a bowl add the egg, masala. Mix them well until the egg is well coated and marinate them for 15 minutes. NOTE: don't break the egg.
  4. Heat oil in a pan and roast the marinated egg until they turn golden brown and keep it aside.
  5. In a pan heat 2 tablespoon (tbsp.) oil. add mustard seeds once the mustard seeds stop splattering add onion and sauté until the onion turn translucent.
  6. Now add the fried boiled egg. Mix well and serve.

NOTES:

  1. Goes well with rice, biryani.
