  1. Sura (milk shark) - 3 pieces without skin
  2. Turmeric powder - 1/2 teaspoon (tsp.)
  3. Water - 1 cup
  4. Chopped Green chili - 2
  5. Chopped Shallot (sambar onion) - 17 count
  6. Fennel seed - 1/2 teaspoon (tsp.)
  7. Curry leaf - 1 sprig or 6 count
  8. Fresh Shredded coconut - 1/4 cup
  9. Oil - 2 tablespoon (tbsp.)
  10. Salt - 1/2 teaspoon (tsp.)


  1. In a pan add 2 cups of water, turmeric powder, Sura (Milk shark) pieces and cook for 8 to 10 minutes until they are cooked. Drain the all the liquid and break (shred) it into small pieces.
  2. In a pan heat oil. add the shallot (sambar onion), green chili and sauté until the onion becomes translucent.
  3. Now add curry leaves, fennel seed, salt and sauté.
  4. Now add the shredded sura (milk shark) and sautae for 3 minutes or until moisture is gone.
  5. Now add fresh shredded coconut. Mix well and serve.


  1. Goes well with idly, dosai or rice.
