INGREDIENTS:

  1. Raw rice - 1 cup
  2. Ripe Tomato - 2 count
  3. Pigeon pea - 1 tablespoon (tbsp.)
  4. Dry chili - 3 count
  5. Curry leaf - 1 sprig
  6. Asafoetida powder - 1/4 teaspoon (tsp.)
  7. Rock salt - 1/2 teaspoon (tsp.)

PREPARATION:

  1. Soak rice, dry chili, pigeon pea, tomato for at least an hour in water immersed. Once the rice is soaked drain the water.
  2. In a mixer or wet grinder add soaked ingredients (rice, tomato, pigeon pea, dry chilies), salt, asafoetida powder and grind this to a dosai batter by adding water as needed. Add curry leaves and beat well
  3. Now make thin dosai and serve.

  7. Heat a flat iron skillet. coat with oil. pour a ladle of batter around and fill in to make a dosai. NOTE: you should not spread the batter with ladle as you do for regular dosai. just fill to make a thin dosai
  8. Once cooked the bottom side. Sprinkle oil around. Flip and cook on the other side and serve.
