INGREDIENTS:

  1. Bajji chili - 4
  2. Oil - to deep fry.
  3. ---------------------------------------
  4. -- For batter --
  5. ----------------------------------------
  6. Gram flour - 1 cup
  7. Rice flour - a handful
  8. Chili powder - 1 teaspoon (tsp.)
  9. Asafoetida powder - 1/2 teaspoon (tsp.)
  10. carom (omam) seed - 1/2 teaspoon (tsp.)
  11. Baking soda powder - a pinch
  12. Salt - as needed
  13. ---------------------------------------
  14. -- For stuffing --
  15. ---------------------------------------
  16. Tamarind juice - 6 to 7 teaspoon (tsp.)
  17. Chili powder - 2 teaspoon (tsp.)
  18. Coriander powder - 1 teaspoon (tsp,)
  19. Asafoetida powder - a pinch
  20. Jaggery - little
  21. Salt - as needed

PREPARATION:

  1. Mix ingredients under the section "-- For stuffing --" into a fine thick paste.
  2. Slit the chili into two slices veridical and deseed them. Now stuff the inner side with the masala paste.
  3. Make a bajji batter with ingredients under section "-- For batter --". i.e. batter should be consistency like idly batter.
  4. Heat oil in pan. Dip the stuffed bajji slices in the bajji batter and deep fry them in medium heat oil to golden brown and serve.

NOTES:

  1. if you like to double fry them. after 10 minute the bajji into to 3 equal size pieces and deep fry them again and serve.
