INGREDIENTS:

  1. Dry Corn kernels - 1/2 tumbler
  2. Spit bengal gram - 1/4 tumbler
  3. Pigeon pea - 1/4 tumbler
  4. Black gram - 2 teaspoon (tsp.)
  5. Asafoetida - small piece
  6. Dry chili - 5
  7. Finely chopped Onion - 1
  8. Cumin seed - 1 teaspoon (tsp.)
  9. Finely chopped Curry leaf - little
  10. Turmeric powder - a pinch
  11. Oil - as needed
  12. Salt - as needed

PREPARATION:

  1. Submerge and soak corn kernels, spit bengal gram, pigeon pea, black gram in water for attest 3 hours. Drain the liquid and grind the soaked ingredients along with dry chili, asafoetida piece, salt to a coarse batter by adding water as needed. (should be thick like you do for adai)
  2. Now to the batter add chopped onion, cumin seed, turmeric powder, chopped curry leaves and mix well. Now make adai with the batter

  6. Heat a flat iron skillet and coat with oil. once oil is heated place a ladle of batter and spread it round to thin round sheet. Once cooked on the bottom side. sprinkle oil. Now flip and cook this side and serve.

NOTES:

  1. Goes well with butter and jaggery.
