INGREDIENTS:

  1. Fish - 1/2 kilogram
  2. Soy flour - 1 teaspoon (tsp.)
  3. Finely chopped tomato - 2
  4. Finely chopped onion - 1
  5. Finely chopped garlic - 10 cloves
  6. Finely chopped ginger - 1 inch
  7. Coconut milk - 3 cup
  8. Chili powder - 1 1/2 teaspoon (tsp.)
  9. Turmeric powder - 1 pinch
  10. Coriander powder - 1 teaspoon (tsp.)
  11. Cumin powder - 1/2 teaspoon (tsp.)
  12. Black pepper powder - 1/2 teaspoon (tsp.)
  13. Lemon juice - 1 teaspoon (tsp.)
  14. Coriander leaf - 1/2 bunch
  15. Cinnamon stick - 2 inch pieces
  16. Cardamom - 2
  17. Cloves - 5
  18. Oil - 3 teaspoon (tsp.)
  19. Salt - to taste

PREPARATION:

  1. Add turmeric powder, half of chili powder, corn flour, salt to taste mix well and marinate for 1/2 hour.
  2. Heat oil in a pan; and fry the fish half cooked and keep it aside.
  3. In the same pan add cinnamon stick, cardamom, cloves, onion and sauté until onion turns golden brown.
  4. Now add ginger garlic paste and sauté until the raw smell is gone. Now add tomato and cook until oil separates.
  5. Now add coconut milk, turmeric powder, rest of the chili powder, coriander powder, black pepper powder, salt to taste, water as needed and bring to boil.
  6. Now add the fried fish and cook until the fish is cooked and the right consistency for the kurma is reached.
  7. Now add the lemon juice, garnish with coriander leaves. Remove from heat and serve.

NOTES:

  1. If you want thick kurma, instead of coconut milk you add ground coconut paste.
