INGREDIENTS:

  1. Fish pieces - 1/2 kilogram
  2. Chopped onion - 2
  3. Chopped tomato - 3
  4. Coconut milk - 2 cup
  5. Curry masala (kuzhambu) powder - 4 teaspoon (tsp.)
  6. Mustard seed - 1/2 teaspoon (tsp.)
  7. Fenugreek seed - 1/2 teaspoon (tsp.)
  8. Slit green chili - 4
  9. Garlic paste - teaspoon (tsp.)
  10. Tamarind juice - 2 cup
  11. Sesame oil - 3 teaspoon (tsp.)
  12. Salt - as needed.

PREPARATION:

  1. In a pan heat oil. Now add mustard seeds, fenugreek seeds Once the mustard seeds stop splattering. Add chopped onion, slit green chili and sauté until the onion becomes translucent (golden brown)
  2. Now add chopped tomato and sauté until it becomes mushy.
  3. Now add garlic paste and sauté until raw smell is gone.
  4. Now add curry masala (kuzhambu) powder and sauté until raw smell is gone.
  5. Now add tamarind juice, salt. Mix well, boil and cook
  6. Now add fish pieces and cook. Once the fish is half cooked add coconut milk. boil and cook until the oil starts to separate.
  7. Remove from heat and serve.

NOTES:

  1. Goes well with white rice, dosai, idli.
